Launch a token

Before you start#

Launching takes about a minute on the Create page and needs no code. Have these ready:

• A wallet connected to GIWA Sepolia. See Wallets and network if you haven’t set one up.
• Enough ETH for the 0.0005 ETH launch fee, a little for network gas and, if you want one, your first buy. The page tells you if your balance is too low.
• A token image: PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 5 MB. It is cropped to a square, so a square image with the subject in the middle works best.
• A name and a ticker. Check them carefully: they can never be changed after launch.
• On testnet, everything is paid in test ETH, which has no value. Get some from the faucet.

Step by step#

Open Create. A live preview on the page shows how your token will look as you fill it in.

   Add an image

   Upload your image, then use zoom to frame it. It is saved as a square.

   Choose a name and ticker

   The name is the full title of your token. The ticker is the short symbol traders see, and it is uppercased for you.

   Add a description and links

   Both are optional. Tell people what the token is about and add your website, X handle or Telegram so they can find you.

   Set the creator tax

   Use the slider to choose an extra fee from 0 to 10% that you earn on every trade, on top of your share of the standard fee. It is fixed forever. See .

Creator tax

Your first buy#

Every token starts with all of its supply on the bonding curve. The creator gets no free tokens. If you want a position, the first buy lets you buy before anyone else, starting from the curve’s opening price, inside the launch transaction.

• The form shows how many tokens you get, your share of the supply and the price impact of your buy.
• Bigger buys move the price further up the curve, so you pay a higher average price per token. Above 15% price impact you have to confirm that you want to continue.
• If your first buy is large enough to fill the whole curve, only the part that fits is used. Your token graduates right away and the rest of your ETH is refunded in the same transaction. The form shows the exact refund before you sign.
• A first buy pays the normal trade fee, like any other buy.

What you sign#

Before you sign, the page lists everything you will pay: the launch fee, the first buy including its trading fee, any refund, the network fee your wallet will show, and the total. It also shows the starting market cap, the graduation target and that liquidity is locked forever.

The steps in your wallet

1. 1.Sign in to Gamapad: a free message signature, no gas. You only see this if you are not signed in already.
2. 2.Image upload: your image and details are saved so the token page can show them. Nothing to sign.
3. 3.The launch transaction: one transaction that creates your token and its bonding curve, pays the launch fee and makes your first buy.

Right before sending, the app checks the launch prices again. If anything changed since you reviewed it, it stops and shows the updated numbers so you can confirm again. You are never charged more than you saw.

After launch#

When the transaction confirms, your token is live and anyone can trade it. You can open it with View token or start again with Launch another.

• Your token has its own page with its chart, trade panel, holders and activity.
• For the first few seconds you may see a page saying your token is almost ready. It is already on-chain; the page opens by itself once market data catches up.
• Share the token page link. It shows a preview card with your token’s image when you post it on X or other apps.
• Your earnings start with the first trade. Follow them in Portfolio and claim them from Earnings.

If launches are paused#

Gamapad can pause new launches for a while, for example during maintenance or an incident. While launches are paused, the Create button reads Launches are paused and no new tokens can be created. Trading is not affected: every existing token can still be bought and sold, and creators can still claim their earnings. The Status page shows whether token creation is available.
